The Dare2B Teen Conference
Dare2B, through interactive games, group sessions, break-out activities, live music and object lessons, seeks to bring Scripture alive in a relevant way. Dare2B gives teens the tools to stand against society and media’s ever-changing standard of beauty, dress and sex, by encouraging them to turn to God’s unchanging standard.
No two Dare2B conferences are the same! Each one is designed to emphasize a different issue facing teens today.

What’s Happening at our 2014 Conference?
One8Tea will be sharing his personal story of finding Jesus after a life pursuing drugs. With God’s help, One8Tea entered the Teen Challenge program (http://www.teenchallenge.ca/), turned his life around and is now spreading the gospel through his music. Now a Dad with a daughter of his own, he will share his father’s heart for girls to value whom God created them to be and will be speaking about the importance of choices. One8Tea will also be speaking to the girls through music.
Joanna Doak, Youth & Creative Outreach Coordinator for Atlantic Baptist Women, will also be joining us! She is the founder and artistic director of Chameleon Jo Productions, a creative not-for-profit creative arts company. She uses music, drama, dance, storytelling, clowning and other art forms to become “all things to all people” (1 Cor. 9:22). Building confidence, character and community through drama, Joanna will be speaking about the importance of body image and value.
Stephanie Robbins will be facilitating this year’s featured social justice issue – Human Trafficking. Hear two everyday girls with good grades, a good home life and actively involved in youth groups, share how they were tricked into trafficking. With the help of a member of the Trafficking Division of Halifax Regional Police, Stephanie will share the warning signs and consequences of sex trafficking, equipping girls to protect themselves and others from being trapped in the violent sex industry. Also, the girls will be empowered to recognize the signs of someone being trafficked so that they may be the instrument of freedom to someone enslaved. Education is one way to STOP trafficking! Stephanie will also be addressing the importance of making wise choices in our use of social media and sharing practical principles for living a life with no regrets.

Every young girl needs to hear the message being portrayed at this conference! Unfortunately, some who wish to attend cannot afford to do so. The cost of the conference is set to cover actual expenses with no profit. Many are volunteering their time and their own financial resources in order for this conference to take place. Even some of our Guest Speakers will not be paid. It is with great regret that we cannot offer free registration to our teens. We therefore are looking to YOU for HELP. We humbly request that if you are in a financial position to sponsor a teen girl to attend the conference, that you contact us to make arrangements. We would also encourage you to SEEK OUT teen girls you know and perhaps approach their parents about paying the registration fee on behalf of their child. We greatly appreciate any financial assistance you can offer to help our teen girls. Together, we can Dare2B the difference makers for the next generation!
As well, if YOU ARE A TEEN GIRL seeking sponsorship to attend Dare2B, please do not hesitate to contact us. All sponsorships will be kept confidential.
THANK YOU and God Bless You,

**D2B’s vision is to help, equip and empower teen girls, and we work hard to maintain a teen girl-friendly atmosphere. Many girls who attend D2B do not come from church settings. They come alone or with a friend. Therefore, our organizers limit the “adults” in the room, giving the girls an atmosphere of amenity; a safe place to have an open discussion on the issues they face with adults who are not part of their everyday lives. This fosters the opportunity for them to be more open and honest, while also helping those who don’t come with a group not feel like outsiders. Therefore, leaders, may be asked to sit out certain break out sessions. Again, this is to foster the girls’ communication with their peers and the freedom to be open and transparent. A waiting area will be provided where leaders can relax during the session. Please, contact us if you have more questions about bringing a group.
